The 阅读背书 程序 at Lake Erie College Includes 5 Classes That are 3学时 Each with Classroom-Based Fieldwork Integrated Throughout the 程序

Students pursuing the Early Childhood and 干预专家 initial licensure may also earn a reading endorsement in 2 semesters (12 Credit Hours) immediately following successful completion of initial licensure requirements.

The 俄亥俄州 Department of Higher Education Requires:

  • 持有AYA的申请人, Multi-Age, or Career Technical License must have completed a pre-requisite nine credit hours of undergraduate level reading coursework before being admitted.

  • 所有其他申请人(幼儿, 童年中期, and Special Education) must have completed the prerequisite 12 credit hours of undergraduate level reading coursework before being admitted.

  • All applicants must complete a 3 credit phonics course. This course can be part of the reading credit requirement if previously completed. If an applicant has not previously completed a phonics course, they can add EMR505发音 他们的阅读支持计划.

This fully online program meets 俄亥俄州's requirements for adding a reading endorsement to an existing teaching license. Lake Erie College is accredited and approved by the Council for the 认证 of Educator Preparation (CAEP) as well as the 俄亥俄州 Department of Higher Education.

Candidates who successfully complete the program and pass all associated state licensure exams are eligible to apply and be recommended for the reading endorsement. Completion of this program may not meet education requirements for a reading endorsement in another state.

If you are planning to pursue a licensure endorsement in a state other than 俄亥俄州, it is strongly recommended that you contact the appropriate licensing entity in that state to seek information and guidance regarding endorsement requirements before beginning this academic program.
